The School of Design, at both the Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses, is very much inter-connected and part of the city; we seek to make meaningful engagement with its people and communities through vigorous partnerships with industry and the design professions. In my first year as the Head of Architecture it has been a real pleasure to guide the academics and students through this exciting time of expansion and transformation. Again this year I have been fortunate enough to travel overseas to benchmark the architecture course against other schools of architecture, this year to visit our partner institute in Milan, and again I have returned home more than impressed with the standard of our own student work.
The designer mixed timeless pieces such as a midcentury sideboard the homeowner already owned with fresh furniture such as the woven and banana leaf dining chairs in the breakfast nook. Besides adding beautiful furniture and decorative pieces, Howard designed an inspiring kitchen with beached quarter sawn white oak cabinets.
To complete the look, he added vintage brass pendants and a gorgeous white marble countertop and backsplash. This home combines beauty with an easy approach that asks you to come in, relax and feel inspired. Windows Beautiful window trim and corbels, painted in a deep mushroom paint color, contrasts with the off-white exterior.
Front Entry An arched entry leads to the front door. The outdoor lighting is by Bevolo.
Also, notice the cream white brick exterior with tan window trim. Neutral Walls Most walls in this home is plaster and, when it is not plaster, the designer had it custom matched the plaster color to a flat color. All white trim is Benjamin Moore China White. Lighting is Visual Comfort.
Benjamin Moore Black Knight. A hallway with herringbone hardwood floors leads to the formal dining room. The stairway railing is custom. The classic paisley drapery fabric is by Jasper by Michael S.
The blue rug is custom, dining chairs are Mr. Howard for Sherrill Furniture and the dining room is by Century. Chandelier is by Baker Furniture. Quarter Sawn White Oak Kitchen This is what the designer had to say about this beached quarter sawn white oak kitchen: Countertop and slab backsplash is Calacatta gold marble.
This large breakfast room is perfect for this young family and their friends. The designer, Andrew Howard, designed this l-shaped banquette and added a graphic F. The woven and banana leaf chairs are by Palecek and dining table is Tritter Feefer.

Master Bedroom The master bedroom features an incredible ceiling and a close-in waterview! Notice the waterfall-edge vanities. The soaking tub is from Ferguson and lighting is Visual Comfort.
