The students will begin to write their own story about a Hermit crab. Once they have finished a rough draft, they will read it over and then read it with the teacher. The teacher will make the necessary corrections. Students will type their story on the computer with little or no help.

In co-operative groups students will then create a habitat for their imaginary hermit crab to live in. Students can use any creative medium they choose, i. The teacher will display all of the art work the studentts created for their habitat for their hermit crab. The assessment the teacher will use for this lesson is observation of the independent practice completed by the student.
